Aberlour
Aberlour, officially named Charlestown of Aberlour, is quite a small town with several distilleries and many places of interest. The area is set in spectacular scenery and has a great history.
A Mecca for the whisky connoisseur is Aberlour Distillery and Visitor Centre situated at the Southern end of the Village. Aberlour is also home to internationally famous Walker’s Shortbread. Walker's shop as well as other high quality outlets, offer excellent opportunities for gentle retail browsing. Along with good eating venues and fine Speyside Malt Whiskies to enjoy, a range of quality accommodation is available. The area surrounding the former railway station has been attractively landscaped and is now the Alice Littler Park.
Aberlour is situated on the River Spey; stand on the Victoria Bridge, also fondly known as the "Penny Bridge", and watch the fishermen cast their lines over the River Spey as they fish for salmon.
